Grandma is sleeping, and this is the time to prepare for Pow Wow season.
A shout out to young boys: learn how to sit at a drum and memorize songs at AIFC every other Saturday with Sage Demarce (Spirit Lake Dakota).
Initial teachings at AIFC include songs, drumming, etiquette, and moving from one drum to another, all while showing respect.
Join the drum at AIMS during Wednesday Community Nights (Drum and Dance) every other Wednesday for practice.
Eventually, with good intentions and dedication, you’ll be ready to join the drum at a Pow Wow.
Parents, drop off your child/ren and enjoy a couple of hours to yourself. Alternatively, you can stay.
A meal will always be provided.
Who: Open to Young Youth ages 6-11
What: Sing and drum with Sage, Sage sits on AIFC’s Imnizaska drum, drums and snacks will be provided
